Need Help?
You’re not alone. These tools and resources are here to help you navigate food, housing, education, health care, and more.
Let's help each other.
Political campaigns give people the opportunity to leverage an amazing platform, but too often they are focused solely on an eventual outcome instead of addressing immediate need. People and communities need help TODAY!
There are a wealth of services out there that can help people right now, but are sometimes hard to find. On this page you will find connections to existing community services in areas such as food security, housing, and financial aid, and also tools and services built by Chuck and the team (which are continual works in progress) that search the internet for local, state, and federal programs you may qualify for. Sometimes, help is nearer than you think if someone takes the time to help you look for it.
Let’s use our collective voices and the platforms we have to lift each other up and make our community stronger.
NOTE: Additional tools and existing resources will be added as we research and vet them.
Affordable Housing
Housing Assistance Tool:
This is a home-built tool Chuck made to help people find existing local, state and federal programs based on basic demographic data. It is not intended to be all-encompassing. If you know of a service or program which is missing, please contact us.
Food Security
Feeding America:
Feeding America is a nationwide network of food banks, food pantries and local meal programs. Their common goal is simple: help people get the food and resources they need to thrive. Everything they do focuses on getting nutritious food to communities – from sourcing food donations to advocating for policies that end hunger.
Feed St. Mary’s:
Feed St. Mary’s is a group working to alleviate food insecurity throughout St. Mary’s County. Their vision is a county free from hunger. They have resources on local food banks, donation sites, and food-related resources such as a printable pantry map.
Secondary Education
Community College Promise Scholarship:
This is a last-dollar scholarship that is available for the 2025-2026 academic year to students who enroll at a Maryland community college. Eligible students can receive up to $5,000 to cover any remaining tuition and mandatory fee expenses after federal or state financial aid and grants have been applied. Those who qualify are students whose families earn less than $150,000 a year and or less than $100,000 in a single-parent household.
